Blasting Off Into Summer

On Thursday, third graders will be launching rockets!  This awesome experiment focuses on potential and kinetic energy and is being coordinated by Mr. Cory DuBuque and the Falmouth High Science National Honor Society. We watched the video today and it has been posted below so you can watch it together at home. If your child would like to create his/her own rocket to fly on Thursday, please have him/her bring it to school on or before Thursday, June 20th. Making the rocket at home is an optional assignment.  All third graders will be able to watch the rockets launch, and the idea is to design one that will soar the highest.  Good luck, engineers!

We are having Camp Count A Lot on Wednesday.  Students have been working SO VERY hard on their times tables, and have earned a day filled with mathematics-related fun.  Yes, they can wear PJ’s, bring sleeping bags, flashlights and one stuffed animal.

Keep your eyes peeled for paperwork coming home this week detailing our brand new online summer book club – Mullen-Hall Reads it All!  Students entering 3rd and 4th grade are invited to join.  Book choices are The Mouse and the Motorcycle and Sarah, Plain and Tall. Participants can join one club, or both!

One last reminder to please come to school at 2:00 for our Family Farewell celebration. Your children have lots to share, and I’ll be showing you a slideshow of their irresistible faces!!
