Today, my daughter Kendyl (14) and I spent time re-painting an American flag on a stone in our neighborhood. We enjoyed the time together in the sunshine, and I think it looks much better, now! Check out the photos!

This is the before picture - painted about 9 years ago.

Working on the red stripes

I painted each star by hand - they aren't perfect, but I think they look pretty good!

Paint was still wet as we planted the mums - but it looks pretty!

I loved spending time with my daughter, and it was important to spend time remembering such an important day in our history.
Hi Mrs.Brooks!I miss u a ton what a great idea!A lot of things these days have my birthday on it!!!!!!!!:)
Grace – I’m glad you enjoyed the pics – I was thinking about you on Sunday and even mentioned you to Kendyl and Carson when I realized that this year was the first time that every single child in my class was not born when 9/11 happened. Then I remembered you and your special birthday. I hope your day was wonderful – you deserve it!
Love,
Mrs. Brooks
ps: I miss you, too!!
