A New Friend

Students in Room 309 are VERY excited, because they know that a new Build-A-Bear friend will arrive today!!  Yesterday, I asked them for suggestions for the newest arrival – and these are some of the ideas they came up with:

(Criteria for Success: Animal, Name, message that animal brings to us)

“I think the animal should be a dog. It’s name should be Groover.  The message would be get moving and grooving” ~Gabe

“A horse named Peace.  She’ll teach us how to be peaceful” ~Alexis

“A black cat named Fishie.  Even if you don’t like someone, you still have to be nice to them” ~Grace

“I think you should get a leopard named Spot and his message should be Don’t change, because everyone is unique in their own way.” ~Kyle

“You should get a cheetah named Chelow.  Be fast, but not too fast” ~Alden

“A horse named Sunshine, to be yourself.” ~Brianna

“A Wolf named Rose – be greatful and kindful and niceful. You could read us the Three Little Pigs” ~Jaden

“A monkey named Fingers with the message to keep hands and feet to ourselves” ~Grant

I can tell you that the new Build A Bear is safely tucked in her box, with her new book, excited to meet you all today.  The staff at Build A Bear were very excited to help me pick her out and name her – it was a slow night, and I was their highlight, ha ha…

If you haven’t already visited — check out our Parade of Pals page to the right — you’ll see and hear about each of the other friends in our classroom!!

    Hi there Jonathan!
Happy Sunday to you! I’m excited to hear you are having skating lessons – I bet you will do a super job! I used to skate a lot when I was a kid, and you should SEE Mr. Brooks on skates. He makes it look so easy.

I love the song you are watching/listening to.. Good choice – I’m putting in a book order for my class for September. Then I have to correct some papers, and then write my newsletter, and make dinner, and finish laundry and a whole bunch of other stuff… I love Sundays, but I wish there were fewer chores to do.

Enjoy the rest of your day off, my friend. See you in the Hall tomorrow!

    Love, Mrs. Brooks
