Today, if you didn’t already know – was International Dot Day…
We started out by reading Peter Reynold’s book, The Dot. Students made some great connections to Ish, another of Peter’s books. We talked about making our mark in the world, and seeing where it takes us. We talked about how the smallest of gestures can make the biggest of differences in the world. We then listened to Make a Wave, by Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas…. they lyrics are perfect for talking to children about making a difference. Check out the song, video and other great ways to get involved at Project Green.
Finally, we made our own marks — we decorated our Dots using oil pastels, which are SO fun to work with. Check out the beginnings of our display – we have more to add as we go along….
