As we head out on our field trip to Plimoth Wednesday, there are a few things I’d love to share with all of you. Plimoth Plantation is a living, breathing museum. It is an extraordinary place where students used all of their senses to learn about life in 1627. A video from our trip two years ago is below if you would like to check it out. This video is also featured on the Plimoth Plantation website, where they use it to encourage donations for field trip funding.
We have been visiting Plimoth Plantation website and watching videos on Discovery Streaming. One of our favorites is the Online Learning Center. It is a multimedia, interactive area on their website that helps clarify the details of the First Thanksgiving from the plimoth.org homepage. Be sure to stop by with your favorite little historian, and check it out!
Students are excited to learn more about both the Plimoth and Wampanoag villages. Their questions in the classroom are enthusiastic and respectful, so I’m sure they will carry that respectful enthusiasm to the docents who work there.
In closing, I have to say I am VERY EXCITED to bring this group of 204-ers to Plimoth. I hope to see them take their mission to heart and really focus on learning while having fun!
Make sure that your student brings a bagged lunch on Wednesday. It looks like the weather report is iffy. Dress for a chilly wind and wet weather. Student fee is $5 for those who have not yet sent in payment. Thank you!!
I think I have all my volunteers set up with something to do. If I missed you – don’t be shy about jumping up and down, offering to help!!
Dream Big!

Hi Kyle,
It has been a very long time. What a great day that was, when we shot that video. I love sharing it with students :). The trip this year was WINDY AND RAINY like the year we went with you, but so many schools cancelled, so we had the place to ourselves.
Tell Bella hello for me if you can – It’s nice knowing she has some old friends on her team.
I hope you enjoy your year as well, and thank you so much for stopping by and saying hello! Enjoy all that MP has to offer!
Love,
Mrs. Brooks
