I’ve been trying a lot of new ideas this year — and many of them are in the realm of helping students focus. I received this DVD at Peter Reynold’s workshop earlier this year.
Smart Moves is a program designed to help improve concentration, memory and attention. It’s also known to help balance, coordination and other skills required for athletics. I asked students to write their opinions on trying this 3 minute exercise in the morning – and they thought it was a great idea.
This is a video that shows us following along with the hand movements. Some are simple, and some we all admit are tricky!
It has been a great start to our day!! Visit the Smart Moves website here: http://www.fablevision.com/smartmoves/index.php
This is great! I love how all you 3rd graders are participating and really focusing on each move. Keep it up! Part of working our brains is working our bodies.
