Third Grade: A Year Abroad….

One of the best things about the Grade 3 curriculum are the opportunities for students to get out and enjoy all that our region has to offer in the way of experiential learning. As you know, we have already visited Plimoth Plantation, the Cotuit Arts Center, and have had many visitors in the classroom.

Now that the nice weather is here, you’ll find that we will resume our trips out-and-about, and will have more visitors arriving in Room 309.

Some of our trips require drivers, and some are within walking distance. Some are full-day excursions, while others might only take 40 minutes. Keep a close eye on the schedule to see what’s coming up and what your child may need to bring to school.

In the coming weeks, we will visit the Cape Cod Canal visitor’s center, Coonamessett Farm, Aptucxet Trading Post, and the Museums on the Green.

We’ll walk to the Falmouth Old Burial Grounds, The Katherine Lee Bates house & statue, and create a narrated photographic walking tour of Historical Downtown Falmouth if we have time!

People visiting our classroom will include experts on worm farms, rabbits, newspapers and colonial instruments.

Can you see why this is my favorite time of year??

Early Release Day tomorrow – don’t forget any change of dismissal notes.

Kendyl & Carson will be visiting the classroom this Friday for the day. Your kids are very excited! They try to come in and help one day a year.

Walk to School Day is this Wednesday morning. Meet at Surf Drive Beach.

Book Order deadline was extended – all orders (online and otherwise) are due tomorrow.

Breathe Deeply,

Mrs. Brooks
